Chocolate Fondue/Hot Fudge Sauce

This is my grandma's wonderful hot fudge sauce recipe, but lately, I realized that it could also make an awesome fondue. Try it either way!
Chocolate Fondue/Hot Fudge Sauce

4 oz. unsweetened chocolate squares
½ c. butter
1 14-oz. can evaporated milk
3 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Melt butter over low heat. Add chocolate. When melted, stir in sugar gradually until dissolved. Stir in milk. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Good to dip strawberries, bananas, apples, pretzels, oreos, marshmallows, Asian pears, sour cream angel food cake, brownies, rice krispy treats.
