Beef and Cabbage Soup

Beef and Cabbage Soup

Brown and drain:
1 lb. ground beef or ground turkey breast

1 large onion, sliced into thin rounds. Cook onions with beef until soft.
Add & simmer together:
2 cans Swanson’s beef broth
3 cups water
(1) 15oz. can tomato sauce OR two small cans tomato paste with another cup of water
½ head medium cabbage, shredded
4 allspice berries or 1/8 tsp. ground allspice
3 Tablespoons sugar
1 Tablespoon salt
3 peppercorns (or regular ground pepper)
1 bay leaf
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Simmer together for at least 40 minutes.
